How to Play Word Guess
Word Guess is a fun and addictive word puzzle inspired by the viral game Wordle. Your challenge: figure out the secret 5-letter word in just 6 tries. After each guess, the tile colors change to show you how close you are. Use logic and deduction to narrow down the possibilities with every attempt. It's free, runs right in your browser, and a new word is available anytime you hit "New Word."
Color Hints
Green means the letter is correct and in the right position. Yellow means the letter exists in the word but is in the wrong spot. Gray means the letter is not in the word at all. The on-screen keyboard also updates with these colors so you can quickly see which letters you've already tried and what's still available.
Strategy
Start with a vowel-heavy word like CRANE or STARE to reveal the most information early. Eliminate common consonants (R, S, T, L, N) in your first two guesses. Pay close attention to the keyboard color hints — they're your best tool for narrowing down options. Avoid reusing gray letters, and try to place yellow letters in new positions. With smart guessing, you can solve most words in 3–4 tries.
